The Grand Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, setting over New Mexico | Dec. 21, 2020

Description
Let me make this very clear, THIS IS A COMPOSITE OF TWO IMAGES. For the sky, the camera/lens on the telescope and tracking the movement of the earth. The foreground image, I turned the telescope off and shot the landscape. I used the same 500mm lens for each shot and then cropped in each ~50% lose some homes in the foreground. I wanted the sky to match the ground in scale so I did the same crop for it, so they'd be the actual size they appeared with this landscape. I then combined the two images in Photoshop. It was beautiful and I’d have loved to have gotten an image with detail of the planets using my planetary camera. Living in the high dry desert, the atmosphere is pretty turbulent and the planets so low on the horizon, I couldn’t pull any details out. So I thought I’d try to show the last few moments as the planets were setting.
